Hi, I’m
Jennifer Parker
I’m running for Salem-Keizer
School Board Zone 3
I was raised here in Salem. I attended South Salem High School and then went on to Chemeketa Community College, where I earned my Associate’s Degree. I finished my secondary education at Western Oregon University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
As a single mother of a son with disabilities who attended Salem-Keizer schools, I’ve seen the challenges and the successes of our schools today.
I am a firm believer in serving my community in whatever way I can. That takes rolling up our sleeves and getting to work, no matter how messy the job is. From cleaning up the streets of Salem on a regular basis to volunteer work with the Boy Scouts and in local schools, I’ve tried to live this out day by day.
I have spent my career at Work Unlimited, a nonprofit organization where I advocate for individuals with disabilities and build partnerships with local businesses to create career opportunities.
I believe our school board needs people with deep community experience stepping up–not to become the next politician–but to continue a life of service in public service. I would be honored to have your vote by May 20th!
About Me

My Priorities
Preparing Students for Success
I have spent my career helping people find meaningful jobs. Our district has strong career training programs, but we must expand them and ensure students graduate prepared for college or the workforce. We must also strengthen core academics—math, reading, and science to set students up for lifelong success.
Fighting for Our Most Vulnerable Students
As a single mother, I know the challenges families face. My son, like many students with disabilities, experienced bullying and struggled to get the support he needed. No child should feel unsafe or left behind. We must ensure our special education programs have the resources needed to help students thrive.
Keeping Our Schools Safe
Students, teachers, and staff all deserve a safe learning environment. I believe we must seek public input on how to properly restore School Resource Officers to school campuses after they were removed without transparency.
In addition, our board needs to prioritize improving mental health supports and enforce clear and fair discipline policies to help keep classrooms safe.
